This Privacy Policy describes how Ultimate AdBlock ("we", "us", or "our") handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your online experience.

        ⚡ Summary: We do NOT collect, store, or sell your browsing history. All ad-blocking processing happens locally on your device.
    

1. Data Collection and Usage

We believe in data minimization. Here is exactly what we store and why:

A. Local Storage (On Your Device)

We store your preferences locally within your browser using the chrome.storage API. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sync it via your Google account.

Settings: Your toggle preferences (e.g., Ad Blocking ON/OFF, Parental Control PIN).
Statistics: The total count of ads and trackers blocked.
Installation Date: Used to calculate your free trial status.

B. License Verification

If you purchase a Pro license, we verify your key using the Gumroad API.

What is sent: Your license key and product ID.
What is received: A valid/invalid status and subscription status.
Retention: We do not store your payment information (credit cards, etc.). All payments are handled securely by Gumroad.

2. Permissions We Use

Our extension requires specific permissions to function. Here is why we need them:

declarativeNetRequest & declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess: Required to block ads and tracking scripts before they load. This is the standard, privacy-preserving method for modern ad blockers.
scripting: Used to cosmetically remove leftover ad spaces (white boxes) on webpages.
storage: Used to save your settings and license status locally.
alarms: Used to periodically check for updates to our blocklists (Malware & Parental Control lists) from our GitHub repository.
contextMenus: Allows you to right-click and use the "Block Element" feature.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

Gumroad: Used for license validation and payment processing. Gumroad Privacy Policy.
GitHub: We fetch the latest ad-blocking and malware rulesets from a public GitHub repository. This is a read-only action; no user data is sent to GitHub.

4. Children's Privacy

Our extension includes a "Parental Control" feature designed for parents to restrict content. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The Parental Control PIN is stored locally on the device and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our extension. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through an extension update notification.
